Therapy for tweens and teens
When your child is struggling and nothing you do seems to reach them — therapy can be the bridge
Parenting a teen can feel like trying to help someone who doesn't want your help. That's where I come in.
With over 6 years of experience as a special education provider and behavior interventionist, I hold that behavioral and emotional regulation change is both skill based and relational
I work with tweens and teens who are navigating the messy, meaningful work of growing up
I help teens and tweens with:
Life transitions such as divorce, family changes, and blending families
Social pressures and shifting friendships
Academic stress and performance anxiety
Grief and loss
Understanding and adjusting to diagnoses like anxiety, depression, and ADHD
Building communication skills and healthy boundaries
Developing a positive relationship with food and body image
Education and awareness around substance use
My approach to therapy with your child is informed by certifications obtained through the UNC Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute, including Social Skills Training, Pivotal Response Training, Peer-mediated instruction and intervention, Naturalistic Intervention, Functional Communication training, Parent Implemented Interventions, Stimulus Control and Prompt Fading, and Behavior Chains and Chaining Procedures
